KRIPALU STYLE YOGA CLASSES

WHAT IS KRIPALU YOGA? Kripalu yoga is a style of yoga that incorporates the integration of mind, body, and spirit. Through yoga postures, breathing techniques, and mediation, our body’s needs and cues are honored in a compassionate and mindful way. This practice of yoga brings a feeling of balance and well-being not only to our physical bodies, but to our minds and hearts. Over time, this feeling of well-being trickles into our daily lives, enabling us to decrease stress. Kripalu yoga can range from gentle and restorative to vigorous and strengthening.

CLASS SCHEDULE:

Thursdays, Intermediate Kripalu Yoga

Thursdays, Gentle/Beginning Kripalu Yoga

Intermediate Kripalu Yoga: This class is designed for folks who would like to deepen their yoga practice. Classes include longer posture holdings, balance work, posture flows, strengthening work, meditation, breathing techniques, and spiritual grounding. Some yoga experience is recommended.

Gentle/Beginning Kripalu Yoga: This class is for folks who are new to yoga, or who simply would like a gentle, restorative experience. Yoga postures (asanas) are introduced, along with simple breathing techniques to melt away stress and tension.

Classes run in 8 week sessions. The cost for an 8 week session is $90.00

(You also have the option of dropping in on a class to see if you like it first. Drop in cost is $13.00) 

Classes are held at the Delmar Chiropractic Office, downstairs.

Bio: Jennifer Webb received her teaching certification through the Kripalu Center in Lenox, MA in June 2000. With over 8 years of experience, Jennifer brings enthusiasm, expertise, compassion, and joy to her classes. With an emphasis on stress reduction and spiritual rounding, she is an experienced and popular teacher of a wide range of Kripalu style classes, from gentle to restorative to strengthening and challenging posture flows. Jennifer's love of yoga is absolutely contagious!

Small group classes and private or semi-private sessions available. 

 

Circuit: Using a variety of bodyweight movements with a few basic kettlebell movements mixed in, this fun (and sweaty!) class will raise your heart rate, burn fat, build core strength and increase your energy level.

  

Beginner & Intermediate Kettlebells:  Regular kettlebell workouts are guaranteed to shred body fat, build total body strength and joint mobility. This fun and challenging class focuses on the foundational kettlebell movements: Cleans, Swings, Squats, Presses, Snatches and Turkish Get Ups. 

Advanced Kettlebell Conditioning: Learn advanced dynamic moves and how they can be incorporated into new routines.  Add challenging variety to your kettlebell toolkit! (Instructor permission required).

Kettlebell Prerequisite: If you’re new to kettlebells, you’re invited to join classes after learning the cornerstone movement of all kettlebell exercises, the Swing.  Due to the complexity of this movement, regular classes don’t allow enough time for its instruction; instead it will be taught during this session or by private appointment.
